Virgie Bonnie Keller, 96, of Desha died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at a Batesville hospital.

Born Oct. 24, 1904, in Locust Grove, she was the daughter of Fount L. Foushee and Katy Rutledge Foushee. She was a cook at the Batesville School during the 1940s and at the Spur Restaurant in the 1960s and 1970s. She was a member of Desha First Baptist Church and she was a baby sitter for many children during her life.

Survivors include a son, R.C. Keller of Desha; three daughters, Imogene Monday of Desha, Virgie Lee Foster of Killeen, Texas, and Rebecca Mason of Jayess, Miss.; two sisters, Pearl Neihaus of St. Louis and Adaline Holden of Little Rock; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Owen Edgar Keller; two daughters, Emagene Keller and Lorene Gilmore; a son, Owen Edgar Keller Jr.; two grandchildren, Carol Ann Keller and Robin Mason; four brothers, Fount Foushee, Easrom Foushee, Frank Foushee and Russel Foushee; and three infant brothers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Desha First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Wilson and the Rev. Troy Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery with arrangements by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jimmy Keller, Joe Keller, Ricky Keller, Preston Keller, Kevin Keller and Wade Gay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Keller, David Massey, Mike Gilmore and Billy Monday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
