Funeral services for Berlin Monroe Buxton will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2019 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend David Doyle and Reverend Kevin Willis officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Berlin, 61, of Kinder, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 28, 2019 in the Golden Age of Welsh with his loving family by his side. He was born March 21, 1958 in Oakdale to the union of JC Buxton and Myrtle (Ware) Buxton.
In 1976, he graduated from Bunkie High School. He was a dedicated police officer for many years. Berlin enjoyed music, movies and sports. He was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, JC and Myrtle Buxton; four brothers, Phillip Buxton, Larry Gene Buxton, James Beal "JB" Buxton and Donald R. Buxton.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: two sons, Berlin (Angie) Buxton, Jr. and J.C. (Kasey) Buxton II all of Centerpoint; one daughter, Samantha Buxton of Kinder; seven grandchildren, Gavyn Matthews Buxton, Ashtyn Buxton, Logan Marcantel, Ally Buxton, Emma Buxton, Braslin and Braiden Lachney; three brothers, Eugene Vernon (Kammie) Buxton of Kinder, Barney Wade Buxton of Lake Charles and Marvin Wayne (Beth) Buxton of Iowa; along with a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be JC Buxton II, Berlin Buxton, Jr., Stephen Bult, Brien Buxton, Eugene Buxton, Jr. and Gavyn Mathews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., then on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
