_____________

Josiah Westcott is my Great Grandfather. Great Poppop Westcott served in the Bridgeton, NJ Company K during W.W.I, in 1917, at age 19. Around 1927 or 1928, he was awarded by the French Government for his involvement in The Battle of Verdun, a medal that he was very proud of. The French Government actually sent over Military to New Jersey and held an awards ceremony at the Vineland Park. My grandfather remembers sitting in the stands with his mom, Mollie, watching as his father received the medal.

Josiah Westcott owned and operated his own button mill, Button Cutting Works from 1933 to 1944 in Bridgeton, NJ.

He met his future wife at Barrs Grocery store, Mollie worked in the store, Josiah was a customer.
