After about three weeks illness, during which she had been tenderly cared for by her family, Mrs. Alvaria Pray passed away at two a.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 1920 at her home one and one-half miles southwest of Altmar. The funeral service was at the home, Wednesday p.m. in charge of E. A. Field. Rev. Walter Clement preached a most sympathetic sermon from Deuteronomy 32:29. The ones who carried the remains of the dearly loved mother from the house were her three son-in-law, J. L. Cook of Altmar, H. O. Jones of Oswego, and W. Lewis of Pulaski, and three grandsons, Clarence Jones, Perl Cook and Leon Jones, all of Oswego. The remains were placed in the Altmar cemetery vault. The flowers on and about the casket were sent from Oswego, Pulaski and Granby Center.

Mrs. Pray was born in the town of Albion, Sept. 12, 1848 and was united in marriage with Atwell O. Pray, July 3d, 1866. She had been a lifelong resident of the town of Albion. Of her it can be said that she had been a devoted wife and mother, and that all her acquaintances were friends.

Surviving members of her family besides her husband, are Mrs. J. L. Cook, Mrs. H. O. Jones, Miss Alice Pray and Mrs. W. Lewis; grandsons, Clarence, Leon and Howard Jones, Perl Cook and Sherman Lewis; granddaughters, Mrs. Roy Mattison and Bessie Lewis; also one sister, Mrs. Chas. Crouse of Granby Center.
