Allyn Davis Brenner passed away May 12, 2007 in her home in South Miami. She was born in Bethesda, Maryland on July 2,1946. She graduated from Radford College in 1968 and earned her M.Ed from the University of Miami in 1975. Allyn was a dedicated teacher and tutor who cared deeply for her students. She was a creative educator that made learning challenging and fun for her students. Allyn felt privileged to have a job that she loved. She treasured the many friendships she made during her tenures at Gulliver School, Atlantis Academy, McGlannan School, The University of Miami Reading Clinic and most recently Beth Am Day School. Allyn's courage, spontaneity and sense of humor will live on in our hearts forever. Allyn is survived by her sister Ann and brother-in-law, Roger Blankenship; Aunt Rita and Uncle George Walker; Aunt Hilma Walker; Uncle Arnold Heart; stepsons David, Howard and Andrew Brenner, stepdaughter Wendy Sweet and a wonderful group of grandchildren that she loved dearly. Allyn felt honored to be considered part of such loving and warm families. Allyn was profoundly grateful to her close friends, Hal and Phyllis Peters, Frank Magnarelli, Amy Gray, Judy Henry, Barbara Merkle, Patti Pharis, Carol Harris and Ken Stroff who supported her through her illness. At Allyn's request, a private gathering will be held at a later date to remember her and all of the good times. Allyn's ashes will be laid to rest in the Atlantic Ocean so she can be with her beloved mother, Grace Davis.
