Mrs. Carter was born in Wilson, North Carolina, June 26, 1910. She moved to Asbury Park in 1940.
She was a communicant of St. Peter Claver Roman Catholic Church and was a member of its Altar Rosary Society, the St. Vincent De Paul Society, and a charter member of the Parish Council. She was also a former president of the St. Peter Claver P.T.A., and a former member of the Bangs Avenue P.T.A.
Surviving is her husband, Robert; daughters Linda L. Carter of Clarkston, Georgia and Judy A. Hewitt of Jacksonville, Florida; one grand daughter, Kimberly Carter of Clarkston; two grandsons, Kevin J. an Jeffrey A. Hewitt, both of Jacksonville, Florida, a sister, Mrs. Sadie Clifton Middleton, Asbury Park, and a host of other relatives and friends.
