STEPHEN WIELERT, 84, of NEPTUNE, died Friday, June 29, at Neptune Rehabilitation and Care Center, Neptune. He was a mathematics teacher for the Manasquan Board of Education for 27 years until retiring in 1986. Mr. Wielert was a member of the Ocean Grove Auditorium Ushers Association for more than 60 years. He earned his bachelor's degree from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and his master's degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Born in Baltimore, Md., he summered in Ocean Grove before moving there and then settled in Neptune in 1955.
Surviving are his wife, Katherine A. Hoefeld Wielert; a son, Thomas Wielert of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and two daughters, Kathryn Wielert of Bloomfield and Nancy Wielert of Miami, Fla.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Ave., Ocean Grove, with interment following at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Hamilton United Methodist Church, Neptune, at a later date.
