Born in Italy, he came to America 63 years ago and settled in Pittston. He resided in Wyoming the past 42 years and was a retired mineworker.
Mr. Alfano was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Exeter; Montedoro Society, Pittston, and United Mine Workers of America.
Also surviving are four sons, Angelo, Wilkes-Barre; Charles, Abington; Joseph, Wyoming, and Salvatore, Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Carmella, at home; a sister in Montedoro, Italy, and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church. Burial, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Viewing, 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m.
