Prussian Royalty. She was a daughter of Frederick Francis II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg by his third wife Princess Marie of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. On October 24, 1896 she married Frederick Augustus II (his 2nd wife) and thereby became the consort of the last reigning Grand Duke of Oldenburg. There were 5 children born of this union, of which three lived to adulthood. At the end of World War I, the former Grand Duchy of the German Empire joined the post-war German Republic, and her husband was forced to abdicate his throne. She lived with him and her children at the Rastede Castle in nearby Oldenburg. She died at the age of 86.
