"Graveside services for BILL WESLEY MATHIS, 78, of Jefferson, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gethsamane Cemetery, in Jefferson, with the Rev. Mac Henry Guinn officiating. Arrangements are by Lewis and Walker Funeral Home. Mr. Mathis body was found July 5 in Marion County. He was a lifelong resident of Jefferson, the son of the late Cain and Margie Mathis. He attended Marion County schools, and he was a guide on Caddo Lake. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Mathis; a daughter, Flossie B. Alridge, of Houston; a brother, Elijah Mathis, of Jefferson; two stepdaughters, Pearlee Graham, of Jefferson, and Bessie Coleman, of Stockton, California; a stepson, Leroy Waites, of Stockton, California; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Active pallbearers will be relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be stewards and trustees of Gethsemane United Methodist Church."
