Sarah Crabtree Ashby Boswell, 67, a resident of Fayetteville, died Tuesday (March 16,2004) at Lincoln Medical Center. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Ollie Samuel Crabtree and Sally Rolin Baker. She was a retired country singer, a home-maker and menber of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Boswell of Fayetteville; daughters, Jo Ann Riddle, Judy Spurlock and Patricia Woodall, all of Fayetteville, and Lesa Downes of Guntersville, Ala.; son, Tony Lee Ashby of Palatka, Fla.; sisters, Ruby Jean Gordon of Lacey Springs, Ala., Marie McHargue of Robstown, Texas and Shirley Simpson of Hartselle, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Lee Finn.
Funeral services were held Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with the Revs. Sonny Moore and Keith Wilson officiating. Interment was in Flintville Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
