Son of Annie Laura Brown and George Albert Young.

Married Mary Maxium Philbrick 26 February 1908 at Newburyport. She was a daughter of Hattie E. Stuart and Charles S. Philbrick of Kennebec, Maine. They had one know daughter and one known son, Dorothy and Charles.

They separated and Arthur was living with his widowed mother; they had six male "lodgers" living with them in 1930 at Malden. Mary and their two adult children were living with Mary's parents at Newburyport in Essex County in 1930.

Albert was a member of the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge. He was also a veteran, honorably discharged 31 December 1918 from Massachusetts 3rd Company Quartermaster Corps.

A flat, granite, military marker was ordered for him by Freeman E, Hewitt on 27 July 1941 to be shipped to Mr. Robert L. Hayden, his only daughter's husband, for placement at Highland Cemetery. It was shipped 31 October 1941.

When their only son also died in 1937, Arthur's estranged wife, Mary, had Charles buried in her parents' lot in Oakhill Cemetery at Newport, Essex County.
