Mr. Allen Hill, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday afternoon, September 16, 2012, with his daughters at his side.
Born December 15, 1925, in Shelby County Tennessee, his family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin when he was 7 years old. He married Frankie Lee Bledsoe and they had 6 children. Allen served in the United States Army from 1950-1952 in the Korean War. He was on the combat fields in Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism and meritorious service.
Allen had a strong work ethic. He worked for Great Lakes Training Company for over 20 years. When the plant closed he then went to work for Chris Hansen Laboratories where he retired in 1994. He enjoyed watching Brewers baseball games and watching other sports on TV. You always found him either in his TV room or at the dining room table playing solitaire.
Allen's wife, Frankie, passed away unexpectedly in 1995. He stepped in and filled the void that was left for their children. This gave him a chance to get to know his children better, and for them to find out what a great father he was.
Many people were fond of Allen and he will be greatly missed. In addition to his children, he leaves to cherish his memory his sisters and a sister-in-law, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Lee Hill; parents, Quinton and Mamie Hill; sisters Dorothy Tate, Louise Pettit, Ellen Hiller, Helen Hill and Beverly King; and grandson Raymond Hill.
