FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Desbah D. Morgan, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5 at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament in Fort Defiance. Fr. Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be at Fort Defiance Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Morgan died July 1, 2007 in Fort Defiance. She was born December 18, 1914 in Dilkon, Ariz. into the Edgewater Clan for the Big Water Clan.

Morgan attended Leupp and Fort Wingate Boarding School. She was employed with Window Rock School District, Senior Citizens Center, and Foster Grandparents programs. Morgan was a member of the Native American Church. Her hobbies include attending pow wows and gourd dancing.

Survivors include her sons, Wilbert L. Morgan, Clifford G. Morgan, Stanley E. Morgan, all of Fort Defiance, Anthony D. Morgan of Los Aneles, Calif., William Morgan, Jr. of Window Rock, Russel H. Morgan of Kirkland; daughters, Maxine M. Bahe, Delphine M. Kewanwytewa both of Fort Defiance, and Cynthia M. Morgan of Pine Hill; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, William Morgan, Sr., daughter, Dorothea M. Johnson; parents; and one grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
