Edward Gordon formerly of Mundelein A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Gordon, 82, of Grayslake, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Santa Maria del Popolo Church, 116 N. Lake St. (Route 45), Mundelein. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (two blocks west of Route 45 on Route 176), Mundelein. Born Jan. 8, 1926, in Chicago, he died peacefully Monday, May 19, 2008, at his residence. Ed was a World War II veteran, an aerial gunner on B-24 Liberator, a member of Chicago District Council of Carpenters and worked 40 years with b. Stromberg Construction. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gertrude (nee Coyne). He was the loving father of Michael (fiancee, Mary Quinn) Gordon, Mary Grace (Scott) Hlady, Kathleen (Dave) Olson, Patricia (Rick) Fuller, Milissa (Scott) Murphy, Erin (Gordon) Kapes, Kelly (Peter) Lane and Bridget (Joe) Salvi; proud grandfather of Margaret, Bill, Grace and Tom Gordon, Christopher, Ryan and Megan Hlady, Katie, Kelly, Megan and Julie Olson, Alison and Erin Fuller, Gordie Kelch, Patrick, Allison and Molly Murphy, Jack, Mara and Evelyn Kapes, Andrew, Billy, Christine and Trudy Lane, and Joseph, Angela, Olivia and Emilia Salvi; brother-in-law of Theresa Coyne, Catherine (the late Robert) Rath, Mike (Stephanie) Coyne, the late Bill (Anasta) Coyne, Patrick and late Helen (the late Ronnie) McConnell; and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete (the late Trudy) and Roy (Edie) Gunther; and beloved daughter-in-law, Nancy Gordon.
