Charles, son of Phillip and Mary Hohman Burlingame, was born April 12, 1941, in California, Missouri. On July 29, 1961, he married Ruth Ann Rowles, who passed away July 16, 2006. On September 27, 2008, Charles married Ardella Ruth Turpin.
A 1959 graduate of California High School, Mr. Burlingame worked for Fisher Pool Tables and Gordon's Portable Buildings before opening up Burlingame Paint and Body, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2006. He was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in Tipton. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, racing and restoring cars and antique gas engines.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Mary Burlingame; his first wife and mother of his daughters, Ruth Ann Burlingame; brother-in-law Paul Imhoff; sister-in-law Lynn Rae Burlingame; and nephew Phillip Imhoff.

Burlingame is survived by his wife Ardella Ruth Burlingame; daughters Diana Ray and her husband Steve and Beverly Jenkins and her husband Scott; grandchildren Ashley (Jacob) Herrman, Aaron Ray and Skyler Jenkins; four brothers Kenny, Larry, Glen and Gary Burlingame; sisters Doris Imhoff and Linda Derindinger.
A funeral service for Charles Ray Burlingame will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Tipton with burial immediately following at the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, also at the church.
