Nancy Word Alexander, 92, of Midland, formerly of Hamilton, died Thursday, Feb. 20 at Midland Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cal Hoffman officiating. Burial was at the Hico City Cemetery.

Mrs. Alexander was born April 6, 1899 at Hillsboro to James M. and Jessie Griffin Word. She married Ernest Warren Alexander July 26, 1918. She was a public school teacher and a member of St. Lukes Methodist Church in Midland.

Survivors include one son, Ernest Warren Alexander; one daughter, Betty Jo Alexander; one brother, J. F. Word; and two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were J.B. Word, James David Word, Kenneth Word, Toney Lynch, Sammy Guinn, and Gaylon Marwitz.
