Lucile B. Anderson Young, 83, of Blackfoot, died Friday, December 27, 1996 at the home of her daughter, Jean Sommercorn, Moreland, from causes incident to age.
She was born September 23, 1913 in Ivins, Caribou County, the daughter of Daniel Alma and Emma Elizabeth Hansen Benson. She grew up in the Ivins area and has lived most of her life in various locations throughout Idaho. She also lived several winters in St. George, Utah.
She married James LeRoy Anderson on September 17, 1935 in Soda Springs. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1969. She then married Lloyd Young on June 28, 1974 in Blackfoot. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1993.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions as teacher in the Primary, Sunday School, Young Women, and Relief Society. She also served as a counselor and secretary in the Relief Society. She enjoyed hand work, cooking, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed doing temple work.
She is survived by four sons: Dean B. (Lee Ann) Anderson of Mackay, Donald D. (Rose) Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, Roland H. (Dianne) Anderson, and Deon R. (Ethel) Anderson, both of Grace; one daughter Jean (Ronald) Sommercorn of Moreland; two stepsons: Kenneth L. Young of Afton, WY and Richard J. (Becky) Young of Layton, UT; four stepdaughters: Shirley (Lamont) Merritt of Afton, WY, Norma Lee (Bruce) Evans of Riverside, Florence (Richard) McMullan of Enterprise, UT, and Geraldine (Richard) Fox of Afton, WY; 45 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, James (Vernice) Genson of Grace, and two sisters: Julia (Kenneth) Kingsford of Roy, UT, and Annie (Charles) Mikolich of MT.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, and a son, Doyle Anderson' two daughters, Sheryl and Carol Ann, three brothers, Virgil, Arnold, and Harvey, one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery.
