TORRINGTON - Mrs. Neva Burke, 103, of 999 Marshall Lake Road, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008, at home. She was the widow of Donald Burke.

She was born in Mars Hill, Maine, on Dec. 22, 1904, the daughter of the late Daniel Garfield Grass and Mabel Fern (Redstone) Grass and moved to Torrington in 1953.

She worked as a time maker at General Time, Thomaston and she farmed in Maine her entire life.

She was a member of Sky Top Lanes in Torrington and bowled until age 94.

She is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Williamson of Litchfield, Barbara Kennerson of Torrington and Jeanette Kline of Navarre, Fla.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and several great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by six sisters and one brother.

A memorial service will be held on April 8 at 7 p.m. at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington. www.phalenfuneral.c
