MR. W. FLEMING. The death has occurred at New Plymouth of Mr. W. Fleming, for 45 years a resident of the coastal district of Taranaki, and a member of a family closely associated with the development of the district. Mr. Fleming, who was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, went at the age of 23 to Pungarehu, Taranaki, with his father, two brothers and three sisters, joining four other brothers and a sister who had previously settled there. Mr. Fleming took a keen interest in public affairs, and was a director of the Kahui Co-opera-tive Dairy Company for the 26 years since its foundation. For the past 25 years he was chairman of directors, Mr. Fleming is survived by two sons and 17 grandchildren.
