Billy Joe Barnhart, 93, of Arthur, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Arthur Home.

Billy was born February 18, 1926 in Greenfield, Indiana, the son of Cleatus and Thelma Tinney Barnhart. He married Jean Powell in Greenfield, Indiana on November 16, 1946; she survives.

Besides his wife, Jean Barnhart, he is survived by 2 daughters, Caron Barnhart of Urbana; Marcia Barnham of Sugarland, Texas; son, William Barnhart of Beardstown; 3 brothers, Dick, Jim, and Don Barnhart all of Greenfield, Indiana; grandchildren, Megan Hoops of Clinton; John Ryan McGrath of Katy, Texas; and Will Barnhart of Beardstown. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Barnhart.

Billy was Terminal Manager for Ecoff Trucking for 37 years. He was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church and former member of the Kaskaskia Country Club where he served on the Board.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association.

There will be no services. Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, is assisting the family.
