Abraham J. Cannon Sr., 58, died Saturday at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala following a brief illness.
He was born in Orange Springs and moved to Belleview a year ago. He was a concrete finisher and a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Orange Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy M. Cannon of Orange Springs; sons, Solomon U. Cannon of Ocala, Abraham J. Cannon Jr. of Madison, WI; Freddie I. Cannon of Palatka and Donald S. Cannon of Elizabeth City, NC; daughters, Willie Mae Johnson of Tallahassee, Julian M. Cannon of Palatka, Libby J. Sylvester, Christine Cannon and Mary L. Cannon, all of Gainesville, Josephine Cannon of Fort Benjamin, IN; brothers, Fred Cannon of Sparr, Isaac Cannon Jr. of Ocala and Osborne Cannon of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Verdale Brown of Belleview; and 20 grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethel AME Church with the Rev. J. H. Strickland and the Rev. S. J. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Orange Springs Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 19 Nov 1993.)
