Alfred “Pete” Lagemann, age 64, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL., with his daughters at his side. He was born on November 25, 1954 in Pittsfield, IL to Edward and Rosemary Yaeger Lagemann.
Pete graduated from Griggsville High School in 1972. He farmed and drove a truck most of his life, and had currently been working for 3-D Leasing. He married Brenda Ransom in 1975 and had two daughters, Leslie and Angie. He later married Janet Summers in 1997 and gained another daughter, Shelbi Summers. Pete enjoyed trail rides, mushrooming, and fishing, always teaching his kids and grandkids his techniques. He also liked to attend ball games and any other activities his grandkids were involved in. He was a great Papa. The most important thing to Pete was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom all brought great joy to his life. Pete never knew a stranger and was always there to help others. He enjoyed a beer and good conversation. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and in later years, he assisted there where ever he was needed. He was also a member of the NWTF and NRA, and a past member of the Pittsfield Moose Lodge.
Pete is survived by his daughters, Leslie Capps of Pittsfield, IL, Angie (Christina Skaar) Lagemann of Springfield, IL, and Shelbi (Nathan Gerard) Summers of Milton, IL; grandchildren, Wyatt “Russell” Capps, Natalie Capps, Zoe Skaar, Kaia Skaar, Josey Moore, and Jaydenn “J.D.” Moore; brothers, Jim Lagemann of Pittsfield, IL, Dave (Mary) Lagemann of Pearl, IL, Danny Lagemann of Naples, FL, and Raymond Lagemann of Pittsfield, IL; sisters, Mary Lou Derozier of Naples, FL, Teresa (Ed) Jackson of St. Charles, MO, Joanie (Dean) Ramineh of Naples, FL, Susie (Chris) Allen of Naples, FL, Debbie (Mike Randolph) Plummer of Naples, FL, Linda (Marc) Rumple of Naples, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rosemary Lagemann; a son, Jason; a granddaughter, Kyleh Capps; three brothers, Dennis, Tom, and Pat; and two sisters, Nancy and Cathy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Interment will be held at a later date.
