He is the husband of Lucille (Carlton) Vaughn.
Together they had ten children. Their names are; Joyce, Edith, Ida, Dorvin, Sharlotte, Sherry, Beverly, Larry Joe, Clorinda & Chester Wayne.

I have wonderful memories of Hershell from when I was a little girl. He's daddy's first cousin and we'd see him and his family at least once every year at the Snow Decoration in June.
He'd always ask me if I remembered his name, when I'd tell him his name, he'd always give me a dime. He got such a kick outa that. I remember his happy, smiling blue eyes. They were so much like my grampie's eyes. I can close my eyes and see him smilin down at me!
