Emilie E. Gerke, 96, of Pilot Grove, formerly of Clifton city area, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Katy Manor Care Center.

Mrs. Gerke was born December 23, 1916, in St. Louis, MO, to William Kemper and Helen Schuette Kemper. On June 10, 1940 in Clifton City, MO, she married Andrew Gerke , who preceded her in death on September 10, 1997.

She was a devoted Catholic always praying for special needs of family and friends. Later years, she was a faithful EWTN Fan. Along with her husband, they raised their family on a dairy farm, near Clifton City. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Mrs. Gerke was an active member of the Altar Sodality.

Mrs. Gerke is survived by four daughters: Emilie (Eugene) Herigon, of Bunceton,MO, Dorothy (Bergman) Brake, of Otterville, MO, Margaret (Joe) Ellebracht, of Sedalia, MO, Mary Gerke, of Kansas City, MO; one son, Peter (Tina) Gerke, of Sedalia, Mo.; one daughter in-law, Karen Gerke, of Smithton, MO; two son in-laws: Vincent Schreck, of the state of Arkansas, David Starke, of Sedalia; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; one great -great grandchild, one step great-great grandchild; family friend, Dianne White, of Kansas City, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters: Martha Schreck, Pauline Starke, one son, Andrew Roger; one grandson, Joseph; one son in-law, Paul Brake; three sisters: Helen Baumann, Mildred Deurmeyer, Alice Gerke; three brothers: Robert, Henry and Charles.

Services for Mrs. Gerke will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton City.

Burial will be in the St Joseph Cemetery in Clifton City.

Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Meisenheimer Funeral home in Pilot Grove. Rosary will be at 7:00 PM. also a visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday, September 14.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Cemetery or Children's Mercy hospital.
