Services for Louie Mewbourn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Hilliard Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Schwartz officiating. Visitation will start at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Colfax Cemetery.
Louie Glen Mewbourn was born May 5, 1937 in Van Zandt County, Texas. He had been a resident of Del Valle for 26 years, formerly living in Austin. He retired from Southern Union Gas Company after 42 years, working in telemetry. He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and enjoyed playing guitar.
Louie passed away at the age of 82 on October 15, 2019 in Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Feridy Mewbourn and Mary Elizabeth Bates Mewbourn; sister, Janice Golightly; and brother, David Mewbourn.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mitzi Mewbourn of Del Valle; daughters, Theresa Mewbourn of Austin and Melissa Rohrbough of Del Valle; grandsons, Quinton Rohrbough and Cody Rohrbough; sisters, Joan Cook and Frances Grahm; and brother, Paul Mewbourn.
