A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery, under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home. Viewing will follow the ceremony. Everyone in attendance will be asked to social distance at the cemetery.
Paul Don Mewbourn was born November 3, 1947 in Wills Point, Texas to the late Walter F. Mewbourn and Mary Elizabeth Bates Mewbourn. He had been a resident of Ben Wheeler all of his life and was a member of Heritage Trail Cowboy Church. He was a Mason and worked as a truck driver and home builder. He loved to trail ride.
Paul passed away at the age of 73 on August 21, 2021 in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his son, John Mewbourn; brothers, Louie Mewbourn and David Mewbourn; and sister, Janice Golightly.
Survivors include his two daughters, Cynthia Hughes and Rebecca Yowell; sisters, Frances Graham and Joan Cook; grandchildren, Tye Hughes, Courtney McAdoo, Taylor Deck, Brandi Yowell, and Lexi Spencer; and several great-grandchildren.
