Drenda Thompson, 67, of Canyon passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Crossroads Country Church, 14425 Farm to Market Rd 1541, Amarillo, TX 79118, with Rev. Bob Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon.

Drenda was born on March 7, 1952 in Borger, Texas to Joseph and Zella Roden Waugh.

She married her high school sweetheart, David R. Thompson, in August of 1968.

Drenda was in love with Jesus. She was a member of Crossroads Country Church, where she was a part of the quilting and prayer services. She did just about every job that she could at the church but being a prayer warrior was her favorite.

She was a fine Christian woman who was loved by all. She was also an outstanding mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Waugh, grandfather, D.L. Roden and grandmother, Vadie Roden.

She is survived by her husband, David Thompson of Canyon; daughters, Kassandra Garrett and husband Shawn of Virginia, Vanessa Hodges of Canyon and Kindra Fletcher and husband Gary of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Garrett Hodges, Kaitlyn Cothren, Austin Hodges, MacKenzie Hodges, Michael Willis, and Gary Fletcher III; a great grandson, Jaxton Johnson; step-father, Carl S. Jones of Amarillo; brother, Danny Waugh of Lubbock; sister, Joyce Brown of Wylie; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Crossroads Country Church, 14425 Farm to Market Rd 1541, Amarillo, TX 79118.
