Marie Burleson Stevens, 78, of Nebo, N.C. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 9, 2001 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Avery County to the late Jeff and Maude Greer Burleson, she was retired from Woodlawn Manufacturing and was a member of Nebo First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd H. "Bud" Stevens.
Survivors include two sons: Ronnie L. Stevens and wife, Naomi, of Glenwood, and Dean Stevens and wife, Linda, of Marion; a daughter, Sharon Hogan, and husband, David, of Nebo; a brother, Charlie W. Burleson, of Lenoir; a sister, Mabel Church, of Blowing Rock; three grandchildren: Christopher and Dawn Stevens and Matthew Hogan.
Funeral services were held at 4 pm on Saturday, August 11, 2001 at Nebo First Baptist Church. The Rev. Joseph McGaha officiated and burial was in McDowell Memorial Park.
