McKim, Robert was born in County Sligo, Ireland, in May 1786, and was raised in the Church of England, but joined the Methodist Church as a young man. In 1841, he came to Canada, settling in Mono Twp. His wife died in 1848, leaving Robert to spend the rest of his life with his children. He died, Nov 3, 1871. William, his eldest son, is a class leader. Robert, his second youngest, is M.P. for North Wellington.
