Edward Wirtz, 79, of 212 Orchard Road, Kohler, died Friday in his home after a long illness. He was born April 6, 1904 in Sheboygan, a son of Balzer and Margaret Wertz Wirtz. he attend St Paul Lutheran grade school. On May 1, 1947, he married Ruth Brasure Mueller of Sheboygan. They moved to Kohler in 1958. Edward was employed at the Kohler Company for 37 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of St Paul Lutheran Chruch, Kohler Quarter Century Club, Farmer's and Sportsmen's Conservation Club, American Association of Retired Persons. He was also involved in the Trees for Tomorrow program.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, 3 grandchildren; 2 sisters; two brothers. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 230 pm Tuesday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev Edwin C Bek, pastor of St Paul Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 10 am Tuesday until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Mr Wirtz's name for the Sheboygan Area Lutheran School.
