William Crocker 1730-1819 was born 8 December 1730 in Barnstable, Massachusetts. The Crocker family had already held a strong presence in Barnstable for over 100 years. His father was David Crocker 1697-1764 and his mother Abigail Loring Crocker, 1699-1756. William was twice married, first, to Lydia Knowles 1733-1764, on 23 May 1753 in Barnstable. Children by her were (all born in Barnstable) Abigail, b 15 March 1754, death date unk., David, b 23 August 1755, d. 28 Jun 1734, and Temperance, b 2 Jan 1763, d 1833 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On 30 September 1764, he married Mary Cobb 1731-1817. Children by her were (all born in Barnstable) Sarah, b 26 June 1765, death date unk. Mary, b 2 Nov 1766, d. 7 Feb 1784, buried in Lothrop Hill Cemetery, William, b 19 Nov 1768 d. 24 Jun 1844, Massachusetts, buried in Sandy Street Cemetery in Barnstable, Matthias, 26 Jul 1770 - death unk. Loring, b 18 Mar 1774-d. 21 Mar 1841, buried at Lothrop Cem. and Ebenezer, 1792-1850. died in Madison, Wisconsin.

[This memorial has been existing for quite some time with the mistaken birth date of 1614, which with the death date of 1819 made his age come out to be 205 years old. In attempting to correct this, I started out with a "merge" request, because another William Crocker, my ancestor, was born 1614. and I thought it was a duplicate, not looking at the "205 years old" and death date of 1819. The merge happened and now the confusion is worse. However, I'm fixin' to fix it, with improvements even, did some research and have a couple more children's memorials and more dates.]
