Augie was born in Waterbury on July 31, 1932, son of the late Lorenzo and Josephine Agrizzo. He proudly served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years where he was stationed in New York, Arkansas, Delaware, England, Okinawa and Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1971. He was then employed as a supervisor for the State of Connecticut D.O.T. until his retirement. Augie was a certified flight instructor at Oxford Airport, particularly having enjoyed flying single engine planes. He also enjoyed daily trips to the Beacon Falls Senior Center where he played cards, went on trips and cooked for the "Gang" on Wednesdays. He and his wife vacationed in Arizona and loved to dance. He was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Beacon Falls.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Florence Barone of Northfield, adopted family, Lee, Bruce, Samantha and Ryan Angeloszek of Beacon Falls and their extended family, nieces, a nephew and many friends dear to his heart. He was predeceased by a son, Anthony Agrizzo.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday September 17, 2018, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the chapel of the Spinelli - Ricciuti Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 6:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Augie's life will take place with Rev. Leonard Kvedas officiating. U.S. Air Force military honors will then be accorded.
