She was born in Stark County July 13, 1896, the daughter of David and Sarah Speer Shane. She was married in Peoria June 15, 1921, to Charles Applegreen, who died Nov. 5, 1953.
She lived in Pekin 42 years. She was a graduate of Methodist Hospital nurse training program in 1919.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Virginia Applegreen at home; two sisters, Mrs. Leland Sloan of Princeville and Mrs. Robin Bliss, of Peoria; and a brother, Sylvester Shane of Wyoming, Ill.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
