Vivian Hales Johnson Graves, 82, of Lufkin, died on Wednesday, December 20, 1995. She was born in Angelina County to the late Abe Dennis and Frankie Newberry Hales. Mrs. Graves was a retired Food Service Dietitian for Kansas State University. She was a member of the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Prior to her moving back to Lufkin in 1977, she had resided in Manhattan, KS, from 1948 to 1977.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Shirley Dal and Faye Johnson of Lufkin; daughter Billie Joyce Beegley of Topeka, KS; eight grandchildren, Bob Cain, Linda Steele, Mike Cain, Julie Tostido, Janice Cain Semple, Sharon Whitley, Keith A. Johnson and Brian S. Johnson; fifteen great grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs Pearl Pruett, Mrs. Macil Dugan and Mrs. Minnie Lee Hanson, all of Lufkin.

Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford Johnson in January 1940, and John Wendell Graves on September 16, 1976, by two sisters, Mable Taylor and Maggie Havard, and by a brother, Milton Hales.
