Elizabeth Burks, 84, died on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Elizabeth was born July 19, 1935 in Coal City, Alabama to the late Earcy Barber and Lucille Warren Olds. She grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and graduated from Byrd High School. She moved to the Arlington area in 1959, when she married her late husband, Morris Burks. She worked many years in insurance, and retired as the owner of Bullet Apshire Insurance Agency. After retiring, she continued to work in real estate and other several other ventures. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Morris Burks and Bill Hunt; grandchildren, Misty Burks and Tim Campbell; brother, Charles Olds; and sister, Jimmy Sue Hughes. She was survived by sons, Gary Burks and wife Emily, and Tommy Burks; grandchildren, Brandy Burks, Kristy Burks, Tracy Burks, Michael Burks, Amanda Burks, and Anthony Campbell; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Ann McPhearson and husband Sonny, and Nancy Olds; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Visitation was 11 AM - 12 PM at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas.
