Annie South Dowdy, 83, of Fairlea, departed this life on Friday, December 13, 2019.

She was born on March 15, 1936, to Gracie Mae Graham South and Graham Porterfield South in Union, West Virginia.

She was predeceased by brothers Ed, Graham, Jesse, and David, and by her sister Virginia.

She was happily married to the love of her life, Bill Dowdy, for 51 years, and they enjoyed woodworking, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, and just being together.

She leaves many behind to cherish her memory. Daughter Sandra (Michael) and Son Bill Jr. (Karen); Grandchildren Stacey, Britt, Jeffrey, and Neil; her special niece and care givers Sharon and Roger Hedrick; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, a graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at New Lebanon Cemetery in Pickaway, West Virginia with Mr. Roy Massie officiating.
