Ashley Abbott's birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1917 in Gateshead, Durham. His parents were Herbert V Abbott & Laura, nee Adamson. They had married in the last quarter 1913 in Easington Durham. Their first child,Elsie M was registered there in 1914. More children followed. Ruby in 1915 registered at Gateshead, then Ashley. Sometime between then & 1921 the family moved to Folkestone as their next child, Lewis Herbert's birth was registered in Elham district.
Ashley passed away at the family home 20 Stanley Road on the 28th March 1923 aged 6.
Other children born after were Olive M 1923 & Christine O in 1925.
The 1939 register shows Herbert and Laura living in Dover. Laura passed away in Dover in 1958 aged 64 & Herbert the year after aged 66.
