Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ann Burkhalter will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020, in the chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale with Reverend Greg Willis officiating.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, Oakdale, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Burkhalter, 77, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Oakdale Community Hospital.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was an excellent cook and no one could match her homemade biscuits.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kohler and Lula Mae Whitley and her brother, Vernon Charles Whitley.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Edward Burkhalter, of Oakdale; one son, Gregory Burkhalter and his wife, Sandra, of League City, TX; one daughter, Susan Walta, of Pasadena, TX; two brothers, J.L. Whitley and his wife, Marie, of Woodville, TX, Michael Whitley and his wife Nita Ruth, of Woodville, TX; five grandchildren, Philip M. Wicker, Isaac Burkhalter, Ruth A. Burkhalter, Brittney Walta and Amanda Walta; four great grandchildren, Micah Wicker, Zoey Walta, Sadie Walta and Evelyn Cruz.
