Robert "Bob" Louis Anderson, 79, of Elk Rapids, died at Munson Medical Center after a short illness surrounded by his loved ones. Bob was born on June 20, 1935 in Elk Rapids the son of Percy Sr. and Louisa (Williams) Anderson. He was a lifelong resident of Elk Rapids. Bob loved going to casino, doing puzzles, joining in elder events, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Kewadin Indian Mission and also a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. Bob was known for his kind, loving nature, his humor, and his quick smile. He was loved by all who met him. Bob is survived by his daughter Cynthia (Terrence) Sterzer, a brother Percy Anderson Jr., sister-in-law Audry Anderson as well as his many nieces and nephews who were honored to call him "Uncle". He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Gerald, Florine, Steven, Russell, Edward, Albert, David and his nephews Michael and Marty Shananaquet. Visitation will start on Sat., June 20 at 4:00 p.m. at his niece Theresa Shananaquets home, 6805 Cairn Hwy, Kewadin, and will run until Monday, June 22. He will be moved to the Indian Kewadin Mission Church Tabernacle for a funeral service on Monday, June 22, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Tom John will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kewadin Indian Mission Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kewadin Indian Mission Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
