Memphis, Tenn. - Rex Franklin , 25, formerly of New Madird, Mo., died July 29, 1974.
Born June, 17, 1949 to the late James S. and Madge Hall Franklin, he spent most of his life in Memphis but had lived in New Madrid for two years. Although a victim of cystic fibrosis since birth, he excelled in scholastic studies, graduating cum laude from Memphis State University with a bachelor of arts degree in mathmatics. At the time of his death he was employed as a medical clerk at St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Mary Laura McCann of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, James J. Franklin of Horn Lake, Miss, and Robert J. Franklin of Memphis; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Genevieve Hall of Sells Rest Home in Matthews, Mo.; and three nieces and two nephews.
Services were conducted Wednesday in Memphis. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid, Mo.
