Mrs. Adams was born and raised in Lake Wales, Florida, the daughter of the late Merle William Berrie and the late Mary Mae Hart Berrie. She was active in her community for her entire life beginning her work career at Western Auto while she served as choir director for Sisters Baptist Church where she was a member and former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Adams also worked for the Washington County Regional Medical Center where she worked in Radiology as well as activities director for the Extended Care Facility. Her most well known place of employment was with West Drug Company where she greeted numerous customers each day with a warm heart and a friendly smile. Mrs. Adams was a devoted Christian and pastored the Bethesda Christian Church. She loved collecting antiques and was known for giving away two-dollar bills folded in the shape of a heart. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Emmett Adams, Sr. and her daughter, Sandra Adams Avant.
Survivors include: her sons, Charles E. Adams, Jr. and his wife Debra and Douglas L. Adams, Sr. and his wife Regina all of Sandersville; grandchildren, Charles Adams, III and his wife Brandy, Jessica Adams, Leslie Perry and her husband Michael, John Adams and his wife Stariel, Douglas L. Adams, Jr. and his wife Andrea, Aaron Adams, Ron McGahee and his wife Patsy, Derek Johnson and his wife Hannah, Rachel Avant and her fiancé Jason Boatright, Jennifer Claxton and her husband John and Ben Avant and his wife Wendy; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joan B. Dioguardi of Lake Wales, FL.
