Jackie Bellamy – Gate City, VA
Marlyn Jacqueline (Jackie) Bellamy, 82, Gate City, VA passed Sunday, January 5, 2020 at her residence with her family by her side after a brief illness.
Jackie was born in Scott County, VA on July 31, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Clarence Monroe and Lantha (Williams) Lowe.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Helen Touton preceded her in death.
Jackie retired from the Scott County School System, where she was a secretary at Shoemaker Elementary School and Gate City High School with 34 years of service.
She was a born again Christian and a charter member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband, Joe Bellamy, Gate City, VA; daughter, Lisa Castle and husband, Mike, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Jason Castle and wife, Holly, Gate City, VA and Josh Castle and wife, Jessie, Kingsport, TN; great grandchildren, Jaden Castle and Rylee Castle; sister, Phyllis Lowe, Gate City, VA; and brother, Lowell Lowe and wife, Jean, Church Hill, TN; special nieces, Jenny Peters and Susan Peters, both of Gate City, VA; along with several other nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. David Merrill officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mike Castle. The Potter Family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Josh Castle, Jason Castle, Mike Castle, Jaden Castle, Lowell Lowe, and Eddie Henry will serve as pallbearers. Johnny Musick, John Robinson, Mark Gardner, and David Gardner will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Thursday to go in procession to the graveside service.
