New City - Claire Conley (nee O'Malley) of New City, NY, 96 years old, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2020. Claire was a dedicated Brooklynite. She was born in 1923 to Molly and Elmer O'Malley.
Claire married the love of her life, Jim Conley, in 1944. At the time, Jim was serving in the U. S. Navy. Later in life, they would take many opportunities to travel the great United States of America together, but her greatest joys always came from her family. She is survived by her daughter Rita Holfelder (Bob) and her daughter Susan Towey (John); her sons Edward (Cindy) and James (Kathleen). She is also survived by grandchildren Peter Holfelder, Robert Holfelder, Elizabeth Towey, Laura Towey, Shaun Towey, Sandra Kitson-Mares, Cara Conley and Edward Conley, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband James, and her loving daughter Carol Kitson. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, 10am, at St. Anthony's Parish, Nanuet, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY.
