JAMES C THOMPSON
James C. Thompson Sr. 92 of Kansas City KS, a former West Mineral Resident, died at 12:30am yesterday at the Heritage House Nursing Center in Overland Park; he had been in ill health for one year and a patient at the nursing home for 10 years.
He was born Aug 26, 1892 in Crawford County to Joseph and Margaret Woodell (Woolett) Thompson.
He had been a resident of Kansas City since moving from West Mineral.
Mr. Thompson married Sherman Kasin on Feb 28, 1912 in Columbus; she preceded him in death on May 22, 1982.
He had been in the poultry business in West Mineral and later had been a pipe fitter on construction until his retirement in 1958.
Mr. Thompson was a member of the Pipe Fitter Association Local Union No. 539 in Kansas City, MO.
Survivors include two sons James C. Thompson jr., Overland Park and Earl H (type o should be A) Thompson Mission; one daughter, Ester Bergant, Madisonville, KY.; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the Naylor Funeral Home in Weir with the Rev. Don Harper officiating. Burial will be in the Cherokee City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm today at the Naylor Funeral Home in Weir. A memorial has been established at the Heart Association.
