Retired Navy, Master Chief Petty Officer, James Wylie "JW" Blue, 75, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2020. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

JW was born in Palo Pinto, Texas, to the late James Flenoy Blue and Veda Lavelle Cruce Blue. He had 35 years of military service. His duty stations included numerous sea and shore commands but he found his passion for recruiting young men and women into the United States Navy. Professional success followed him at every duty station.

JW embraced and loved the Greenbrier community and never met a stranger. He frequented the Wagon Wheel restaurant daily and offered wisdom at the Table of Knowledge. He was a golf fanatic and worked hard to promote the game. He was very interested in young people and offered encouragement to fulfill their future dreams.

He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Floyd Wheeler, of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Roland Lyon, of Cedar Bluff, Mississippi.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lydia; daughters, Jami Elizabeth Miller and her husband, Chad, Demetria "Buffy" Meadows, Keri Denise Keis and her husband, Chris; son, Garrett Wade Blue; grandchildren: Taylor Reynolds, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Lane Alan Crawford of Mineral Wells, Texas, Cameron Bryce Miller, of Tyler, Texas, Anna Grace Blue and Ella Faith Blue, both of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Kylie Elizabeth Keis, of Millsap, Texas, Bailee Ashton Miller, of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Kenidy Denise Keis, of Millsap, Texas; sisters, Bettie June Lyon, of Cedar Bluff, Mississippi, and Frances Kay Wheeler, of Mineral Wells, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
