Mrs. Bettie June Lyon, 87, passed away on September 9, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Bettie June Blue Lyon was born on June 8, 1936, in Houston, to the late James Flenoy and Sarah Hardin Blue. Mrs. June worked as a Parts Secretary for Mitchell Automotive and was a homemaker. She enjoyed word puzzles and traveling. She was an avid and accomplished cook. She was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, where over the years, had served in many capacities including, Pianist, Organist, Church Clerk, and was a Sunday School Teacher. She and Mr. Roland were very involved with Campers on Mission. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married Roland Lyon on October 6, 1955, in West Point, and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2017.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Lee Watkins: two brothers, William Lee Morris and J. W. Blue: a sister-in-law, Mary Rose Lyon: two brothers-in-law, George David Lyon, Sr. (Mona Manning) and Floyd Wheeler, a niece, Demetria "Buffy" Meadows, and a nephew, Dr. George David Lyon, Jr.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point and Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from Cedar Bluff Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Chesser officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Methodist Cemetery in Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Lyon Watkins (Cliff) of West Point: a grandson, Jared Watkins of West Point: one sister, Kay Wheeler of Mineral Wells, Texas, one sister-in-law, Lydia Blue of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews

Pallbearers will be Scott O'Brian, Henry Applewhite, Gregg Kaiser, Joyner Williams, Darren Phelps, and Garrett Blue.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nurses and Staff at North Mississippi Medical Center Medical Clinic, Nurses and Staff at Waverly Care Home, Nurses and Staff at Dugan Memorial Home, Special Nurses: Keena Kaiser and Kathy Dyson, Andy Williams, Former Pastors, Ministers of Music,and Deacons at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, friends and neighbors in Cedar Bluff, and friends at Campers on Mission.
