--Funeral services will be held in the first ward chapel Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock for Andrew Adamson, who died in Salt Lake Wednesday morning. The deceased was a resident of this city for twenty-seven years, coming here in 1878. In 1905 he moved to Salt Lake and had since resided there.

Funeral Services for Andrew Adamson
Andrew Adamson, pioneer civil engineer, and business man of Utah died at his home, 134 West Second North street in Salt Lake , Tuesday afternoon. Mr Adamson was well known here as he made his home in this city from 1878 until 1905 and had a host of friends here.
The body was brought here for burial and the funeral services are being held Friday afternoon at the First Ward Chapel as we go to press.
Mr Adamson came to Utah in 1878 from Scotland, arriving in Salt Lake June 13. Within a few days he came to American Fork. He went back to Salt Lake in 1905.
Mr Adamson was the son of David P and Agnes Nicol Adamson, and was born at Boreland, Fifeshire, Scotland, September 1, 1845. He was the oldest of eleven children. Before the age of 10 he went to work with his father in the coal mines of his native region.
In August, 1863, at the age of 18, he was married to Janet Robertson, and from this marriage there were six children. Mrs Adamson died at Weaver Row Dysart, Fifeshire, Scotland, in April 1876. In November, 1976, Mr Adamson was married to Margaret McLeod, of which marriage there were six children.
In 1876 Mr Adamson joined the Latter-Day Saints church and came to America the same year.
Mr Adamson's first work in Utah was in the Granite marble quarry, Little Cottonwood, helping to get out building material for the construction of the Salt Lake temple. From this he became manager of the mines in Scofield in 1882, and in 1888, in Wyoming, did some work in mining engineering.
In 1892 he became deputy county surveyor of Utah county, and in 1895 became county surveyor or Utah county.
Mr Adamson is survived by his widow, Margaret Adamson, and the following sons and daughters: Andrew, Jr. H. S., Henry and J. M. Adamson, all of Salt Lake; Mrs. J. W Duke of Park City; Mrs Melvin Coverly and Mrs. Agnes Hall of Salt Lake. Also the following brothers and sisters survive him: David P. and Henry M Adamson of Salt Lake; Mrs Elizabeth Cousin of American Fork; Mrs Katherine Firmage, American Fork; Jessie Steggel and Agnes Brunton, Scotland, and Mrs Anna Watson of Coalville.
