Wookie, you are a runner. I am a runner.
How can I run without my running companion?
I don't want to face the day tomorrow without you.
I want to get your leash.
I want to get your harness.
I want to hear you bark that you are ready.
I want to see you run back and forth, wagging your tail from excitement.
I want to put on my headphones and watch you sprint ahead and pull me along.
I want to command my lead dog to turn left, or to turn right.
I want to take a break at the stoplight and pet your furry ears.
I want to return from our run and give you your favorite treat because you had a good run.
I want to tell you what a good job you did leading me the whole way.
I want to let you rest until our next run.
But, it won't be tomorrow.
I will run alone.
Rest my sweet Wookie.
We will run again.
Love, Mom
