Born at St. John's, Newfoundland, the son of Andrew and Mary Casey.
Andrew served as a Coal Passer aboard the U.S.S. Katahdin and Richmond with the Navy during the Spanish American War.
According to his death certificate he was married to Sarah and worked as a laborer in Brighton. He was admitted to the Chelsea Soldiers Home on Oct. 27, 1914, where he died of Tuberculosis. Home records state he was interred at Holyhood Cemetery, however his death certificate confirms Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
